2016 OHL Gold Cup Rosters Announced
Submitted By crobinsoncprb on Thursday, April 14, 2016
The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) and ALLIANCE Hockey, in partnership with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), announced Tuesday the 160 players who will be part of the 2016 OHL Gold Cup, which will be held May 5-8, 2016 at the Activa Sportsplex in Kitchener, Ontario.

Congratulations to Spencer Lapointe, Brady MacDonald and Jake Murray for being selected to the roster!

The players selected, born in 2000, were selected by the teams' (Member Partner’s and Hockey Canada Branches) appointed Director of Operations, with support from Darrell Woodley, Director of Central Scouting. These players will compete in a 20 game tournament where they will be evaluated by Hockey Canada scouts.

Ryan Jankowski, Hockey Canada’s head scout for the men’s Program of Excellence, will lead player selection for both the summer camp and three national teams, with assistance from regional scouts – Carl Bouchard (Quebec, Atlantic Canada), Wade Klippenstein (Western Canada), Darrell Woodley and Barclay Branch (Ontario).

The OHL Gold Cup is an annual event created to feature Ontario’s top Under-16 talent. As part of the revamped Hockey Canada Program of Excellence, the top players from the OHL Gold Cup will be invited to attend the Hockey Canada Under-17 National Camp where they will practice and compete against other players throughout Canada to earn a spot on Team Canada and compete at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge
Tickets are now available for the event.  Click Here for details.
